Delimitation to Reshape Telangana’s Political Map
CM Revanth Reddy said Telangana’s political landscape is set to change significantly following the next delimitation exercise. According to his projections, the number of Lok Sabha constituencies in the state is expected to rise from 17 to 26, while Assembly constituencies will increase from 119 to 182.
Building on this anticipated expansion, the Chief Minister claimed the Congress would win over 115 of the 182 Assembly seats in the next election, allowing the party to continue governing the state comfortably.
CM Revanth Reddy Invokes Bhadrachalam Temple Deities, Vows “18-Hour” Campaign
In a symbolic gesture, CM Revanth Reddy invoked Lord Rama and Goddess Sita of the Bhadrachalam Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple, describing his prediction as a solemn commitment made by Congress workers from Khammam district. He said party leaders and cadre would work “18 hours a day” to ensure another electoral victory and to strengthen the party’s organisational presence across the state.
Sharp Attack on BRS and KCR
Launching a pointed attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the Chief Minister Reddy targeted party president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and other senior BRS leaders, asking them to remember July 10, 2026 a date he described as marking the beginning of the Congress campaign for a second consecutive term in power.
CM Revanth Reddy asserted that the Congress government would continue implementing its welfare and development programmes even as it prepares for the next electoral battle.
KTR’s Counter-Claim on Anti-Incumbency
The Chief Minister Ravanth Reddy’s remarks came shortly after BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) claimed that the Congress government had lost public support midway through its tenure. Citing what he described as an internal survey, KTR alleged growing anti-incumbency against the state government and claimed that the BRS would emerge as the single largest party if elections were held immediately.
Congress Confident of Governance Record
Responding indirectly to KTR’s claims, Revanth Reddy maintained that the Congress remained confident of its governance record and continued public support. He urged party workers to intensify outreach programmes, strengthen grassroots organisation, and remain united to secure the party’s success in the next Assembly elections.

With the 2026 Assembly elections drawing closer, Friday’s dueling claims from Revanth Reddy and KTR signal that Telangana’s political battle lines are already being drawn.
