New Delhi: Sudhanshu Trivedi on Tuesday strongly refuted allegations made by the Congress against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife, calling the claims “fabricated and misleading.”

🗣️ BJP Rejects Allegations

Addressing a press conference, Trivedi said the documents released by the Congress contain multiple glaring errors, raising serious doubts about their authenticity.

“The documents released contain multiple glaring errors. The surname is wrongly written as ‘Sharma’ instead of ‘Sarma’. The photo appears sourced from public domain images. Nationality is shown as Egyptian while the passport is from Antigua and Barbuda,” he said.

He added that these inconsistencies indicate that the documents are fabricated.

⚠️ Claims of Political Motivation

Trivedi alleged that the documents were created out of “frustration and desperation” ahead of elections in Assam.

“All of this clearly indicates that these are fabricated and misleading documents,” he said.

🔥 Attack on Congress

Launching a broader attack, the BJP leader accused the Congress of making baseless allegations.

“Sensing an inevitable defeat in Assam, the Congress party appears to be losing its balance. Its frustration is evident from today’s press conference,” he said.

He further stated that the BJP would present factual responses and the “true picture” on the matter.

📊 Political Context

The exchange comes amid heightened political tensions ahead of elections in Assam, with both BJP and Congress intensifying their attacks on each other.

🧩 Conclusion

The controversy is likely to escalate further as both parties continue to trade allegations, with the issue expected to remain a key talking point in the run-up to elections.
