Mysuru, Karnataka: G. Parameshwara on Monday stated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will continue in his position for the full five-year term under the “current situation.”
🗣️ ‘No Information on Leadership Change’
Addressing reporters, Parameshwara dismissed speculation about any immediate leadership change in the state.
“We don’t know anything (about leadership change). Who said there will be a change? Who will change?” he said.
🏛️ Decision Lies with High Command
He emphasized that any decision regarding a change in leadership rests solely with the Congress high command.
“The AICC has to do it. Since they haven’t said anything, should we keep guessing? When they want to make changes, the high command will say so; they might not make any changes either,” he added.
📊 Political Context
The statement comes amid ongoing speculation regarding leadership dynamics within the Karnataka Congress government. However, the minister’s remarks suggest that no official decision or discussion has taken place so far.
🧩 Conclusion
Parameshwara’s clarification indicates that Siddaramaiah is likely to continue as Chief Minister unless the Congress high command decides otherwise, putting to rest, for now, rumours of a leadership change.
