A close aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim and drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola was brought to India early this morning in a major breakthrough by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). He was taken into custody at Delhi’s IGI Airport under Operation Global-Hunt in coordination with international agencies.

A close aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim and notorious drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola was brought to India early this morning following a major breakthrough by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the development, stating that the NCB successfully secured Dola’s return from Türkiye under Operation Global-Hunt. He said the action reflects the government’s strong commitment to bringing narcotics fugitives and organised crime syndicates to justice.

According to the Home Minister, the operation highlights the Modi government’s continued efforts to dismantle drug cartels operating across international borders through coordinated action with global enforcement agencies.

The NCB, in collaboration with international and Indian intelligence agencies, executed the operation and took Salim Dola into custody upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi early this morning.

Dola was wanted in multiple narcotics trafficking cases in India and had been absconding for several years. Authorities said he had developed a transnational drug trafficking network spanning the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

Investigations revealed his involvement in large-scale trafficking of heroin, charas, mephedrone, and methamphetamine, particularly in Maharashtra and Gujarat. He was reportedly a key supplier in downstream drug distribution networks in India and is also wanted by Gujarat ATS and Mumbai Police.

Officials further noted that earlier, his son Tahil Salim Dola and other associates were arrested by Mumbai Police after deportation from the UAE in 2025.

The Home Ministry stated that the operation demonstrates strong international cooperation between authorities in Türkiye, INTERPOL, and Indian agencies in combating global drug trafficking networks.
