Fresh legal trouble has emerged for Anukalp Mishra, one of the key accused in the Ram Temple Donation Theft case, after Ayodhya Police registered a separate case based on allegations made by his aunt. The complaint accuses Mishra and seven other family members of assault, criminal intimidation, trespassing and robbery during a domestic dispute. Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
The latest FIR comes while Mishra is already under scrutiny in the high-profile Ram Temple Donation Theft case involving the alleged misappropriation of offerings made by devotees at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. Investigators are now conducting parallel inquiries into both matters.
Family Dispute Leads to Fresh Criminal Case

According to the complaint filed by Neha, she married Brijendra Mishra, Anukalp Mishra’s uncle, in 2016. Following matrimonial disputes, a court reportedly allotted her a room at her in-laws’ residence. She alleged that on April 28, Brijendra Mishra and others broke the lock of her room, entered the premises without permission and removed her belongings.
Neha further claimed that when she visited the residence on April 30 along with her mother, two sisters and an aunt to question the incident, they were allegedly assaulted by Brijendra Mishra, his second wife Pallavi, Anukalp Mishra and several other family members. According to the complaint, the accused attacked them with sticks and physically assaulted multiple members of the family.
She also alleged that her husband attempted to strangulate and molest her during the confrontation. The complaint further states that the accused snatched her mobile phone, purse and ₹20,000 in cash.
Neha alleged that when one of her sisters intervened to protect her, she too was assaulted, thrown to the ground and robbed of her earrings and gold chain. Another sister was also allegedly attacked and deprived of her jewellery. The complainant further claimed that her mother was dragged and beaten by three women identified as Pallavi, Beauty and Sita during the altercation.
She stated that she immediately contacted the police emergency helpline, following which officers reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Police Register FIR, Investigation Underway
Based on the allegations, Ayodhya Police have registered a case against all eight accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Officials said statements of the complainant and other witnesses will be recorded, while evidence related to the incident is being examined before further legal action is taken.
Police have clarified that the allegations are currently under investigation and that appropriate action will be taken after verification of facts and collection of evidence.
The Ram Temple Donation Theft case has remained under investigation for several weeks after allegations surfaced regarding the misappropriation of cash and valuables donated by devotees at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The case attracted nationwide attention because of the religious significance of the temple and the large volume of offerings received every day. Earlier investigations led to multiple arrests, while authorities continued examining financial records, electronic evidence and the alleged role of those connected with the management of donations.
Legal experts note that the newly registered FIR is separate from the temple donation investigation and will proceed independently under criminal law. However, the fresh allegations add to the legal challenges facing Anukalp Mishra, who remains under investigation in the donation theft case.
Officials said investigators will continue examining documentary evidence, witness statements and other material related to both cases. The outcome of the investigations will determine the next course of legal proceedings, including whether additional charges or arrests become necessary as the probe progresses.
