Mamata Banerjee Alleges Vehicle Check by Central Forces
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday claimed that central forces attempted to check her vehicle while she was on her way to the airport in Kolkata.
The allegation comes amid heightened political tensions ahead of elections in the state.
Statement at Poll Rally
Addressing a rally in Uttar Dinajpur, Banerjee said that central forces tried to stop and search her car earlier in the day.
“Central forces tried to check my car when I was going to the Kolkata airport today. If you have the guts, you check my car every day,” she said.
TMC Raises Concerns Over Checks
The remarks come a day after the All India Trinamool Congress alleged that the Election Commission had ordered “intrusive checks” targeting its leaders.
Party leaders have raised concerns over what they describe as selective enforcement during the election period.
Political Tensions Rise
The development has added to the ongoing political friction in West Bengal, with the ruling party and central agencies at odds over election-related procedures.
Authorities have not yet issued an official response to the claims.
