TVK Falls Short of Majority

New Delhi/Chennai: Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is facing a major hurdle in forming the government after falling short of the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Despite a strong electoral performance, the party has not secured enough seats on its own to form the government.

Alliance Talks Begin

To bridge the gap, TVK has reportedly initiated discussions with several smaller political outfits, many of which were previously aligned with the defeated MK Stalin-led DMK government.

The developments signal intense political negotiations as parties explore possible post-poll alliances.

Congress Faces Criticism

Amid the shifting political equations, the Congress party is facing criticism from allies over allegations that it distanced itself from the DMK following the latter’s defeat.

The issue sparked reactions beyond Tamil Nadu, drawing comments from opposition leaders.

Akhilesh Yadav Extends Support

Akhilesh Yadav on Monday shared photographs with Mamata Banerjee and MK Stalin on social media and posted a message that read: “I am not the ones who abandon each other in times of difficulty.”

The post was widely interpreted as a gesture of solidarity towards regional allies who recently suffered electoral setbacks.

DMK Responds with Gratitude

DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai shared Akhilesh Yadav’s post along with a Thirukkural couplet and a note thanking him for the support.

Political Uncertainty Continues

With no party securing a decisive mandate, political activity in Tamil Nadu is expected to intensify in the coming days as alliance discussions continue and parties negotiate support for government formation.
