AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal says tribals remain most deprived despite decades of rule by major parties
Dahod, Gujarat: Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, alleging that the two parties have failed the people of Gujarat over the past three decades.
Addressing a public gathering in Limkheda, Kejriwal claimed that both parties have “looted Gujarat” during their respective tenures.
🗣️ Attack on BJP and Congress
“Over the past 30 years, the Bharatiya Janata Party, along with the Congress, has looted Gujarat,” Kejriwal said, intensifying his party’s criticism of the dominant political forces in the state.
🌾 Focus on Tribal Communities
Highlighting the condition of tribal populations, Kejriwal stated that the worst impact of governance failures has been borne by these communities.
“However, the worst impact has been on the tribal communities. They have faced the highest level of exploitation and injustice,” he said.
He further added that even today, tribal communities across Gujarat remain among the poorest and most marginalised sections of society.
📊 Political Context
The remarks come as the Aam Aadmi Party continues to expand its presence in Gujarat, attempting to position itself as an alternative to both the BJP and Congress.
Tribal regions in the state are often seen as politically significant, with parties focusing on welfare, development, and representation issues to gain support.
🧩 Conclusion
Kejriwal’s statements underline AAP’s strategy to target both major parties while focusing on social and economic issues affecting marginalised communities, particularly ahead of future electoral contests in Gujarat.
