Dehradun: In a tragic incident, a retired Army brigadier was killed after being caught in crossfire during a road rage clash in Dehradun on Monday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Mukesh Joshi (74), who was reportedly out for his morning walk at the time of the incident.

According to police, the incident occurred in Johri village on Mussoorie Road, where an argument broke out between occupants of two vehicles — a Delhi-registered Toyota Fortuner and a Scorpio N — over giving way.

The altercation quickly escalated into a road rage situation.

Officials said that the occupants of the Scorpio allegedly chased the Fortuner and opened fire, reportedly targeting its tyres.

During the firing, a bullet struck Brigadier Joshi, who was passing through the area, leading to his death.
