NCW Steps In Over Serious Allegations
The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognizance of serious allegations emerging from a BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services in Nashik.
The allegations reportedly include sexual harassment, rape, and attempted forced religious conversion involving women employees.
Fact-Finding Committee Constituted
In response, the commission has formed a fact-finding committee led by a retired judge of the Bombay High Court.
The committee is scheduled to visit the site on April 17 to conduct a detailed investigation.
Scope of Investigation
During the visit, the panel will:
- Interact with the alleged victims
- Meet company officials and local authorities
- Examine any lapses in workplace safety and compliance
The committee has been tasked with submitting its report within 10 days.
Focus on Accountability
The NCW’s intervention highlights the seriousness of the allegations and the need for accountability in corporate workplaces.
Authorities are expected to take further action based on the findings of the committee.

As of now, no official conclusions have been drawn, and the matter remains under investigation.
