In a major step aimed at restoring confidence in India’s examination system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that the Centre will establish fast-track courts to ensure speedy trials and strict punishment for those involved in paper leak cases. The PM Modi Fast-Track Courts initiative comes amid the continuing controversy over the NEET paper leak and growing demands for stronger action against examination fraud.
In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that nothing is more important than the welfare and future of the country’s youth. He added that he has directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to ensure that individuals attempting to damage students’ futures are brought to justice without delay.
PM Modi Orders Swift Action Against Paper Leak Accused
Announcing the PM Modi Fast-Track Courts initiative, the Prime Minister said the government remains fully committed to protecting students and ensuring fairness in competitive examinations.
He stated that those responsible for paper leaks would not be spared and stressed that swift legal action is essential to prevent similar incidents in the future. According to the Prime Minister, the decision is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the examination system and safeguard the interests of millions of students preparing for national-level entrance tests.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement, describing it as a landmark step for protecting the interests of students.
In his response, Shah said the welfare of young people remains one of the highest priorities of the government. He added that the establishment of fast-track courts would ensure strict punishment for those who jeopardise students’ careers through paper leaks and would strengthen public confidence in the country’s examination process.
The Home Minister said the government’s zero-tolerance approach towards examination fraud reflects its commitment to providing fair opportunities to every deserving candidate.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan Criticises Opposition
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also supported the government’s move while criticising Opposition parties over the NEET paper leak controversy.
Speaking to reporters, Chouhan alleged that Opposition parties have repeatedly changed their stand on the issue and have avoided participating in discussions inside Parliament. He said Prime Minister Modi has made it clear that the future of students is the government’s foremost concern and accused Opposition parties of politicising an issue that directly affects millions of aspirants.
According to Chouhan, constructive debate and reforms are necessary instead of repeated disruptions during parliamentary proceedings.
NEET Paper Leak Sparked Nationwide Debate
The NEET paper leak controversy has become one of the biggest education issues in recent years, triggering nationwide protests, legal challenges and multiple investigations. Allegations of examination malpractice raised serious concerns about transparency, fairness and the credibility of India’s largest medical entrance examination.
