Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, widely known online as “Rebel Kid,” has officially entered Netflix’s reality show Lock Upp Season 2 as the latest wildcard contestant, putting an end to days of speculation among fans. Her entry follows the elimination of contestant Yogesh Rawat and arrives at a point when rivalries inside the house have already been running high.
Confirmation Follows Days of Online Buzz
Speculation began after the makers released a promotional clip introducing a new contestant without revealing her face. In the teaser, host Farah Khan described the incoming participant as the most disruptive gang leader, showing a handcuffed woman being escorted into the house with her identity deliberately concealed. The clip sent fans into a frenzy, with several viewers pointing to familiar tattoos and jewellery as clues to her identity. Social media platforms, particularly X, were flooded with reactions from users who guessed early on that the mystery entrant was Mukhija. Her entry has since been confirmed as part of the show’s ongoing storyline, moving the narrative from speculation to an official development.
Who Is Apoorva Mukhija
Mukhija has built a large following through humorous and relatable content on Instagram and YouTube, and is recognised as one of India’s most prominent Gen Z digital creators, known for her aesthetic mini-vlogs, candid storytelling and entertaining skits. Raised in Delhi, she studied at Delhi Public School, Panipat, and the Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi, before completing a degree in Computer Engineering from Manipal University, Jaipur. Her professional profile also lists a stint as an Associate Sales Engineer Analyst at Dell Technologies, alongside earlier internships in social media marketing and web development.
She has featured among Forbes’ Top 100 Digital Stars and on Forbes’ Creator List, reflecting her influence in India’s digital content space, and has collaborated with numerous major brands. She also appeared previously on Prime Video’s reality format The Traitors, an appearance many viewers referenced while speculating about her Lock Upp entry. Her online identity as “Rebel Kid” has largely been shaped by her candid, unfiltered commentary and willingness to voice strong opinions, a reputation that has, at times, also drawn criticism the same fearless persona the makers of Lock Upp appear to be banking on to inject fresh energy into the season.
Expected Impact on the Show
Mukhija’s reputation for being outspoken and unfiltered is expected to introduce fresh conflict and reshape existing alliances inside the house. Contestants who have been part of the competition since the start may need to recalibrate their strategies following her arrival, and fans online have already begun speculating about possible confrontations, given some previously reported friction between Mukhija and certain participants.
Drama Already Brewing Inside the House
The wildcard entry comes at a turbulent time for the show, with the house already witnessing heated exchanges among existing contestants. A recent episode saw tension escalate between gang leader Shivangi Joshi and contestant Shreya Kalra over a dispute involving food, with Shilpa Shinde reported to have weighed in against Joshi, while fellow contestant Harshad Chopda backed her through the episode. Despite the friction, Joshi delivered strong performances that week, winning two consecutive challenges — one requiring her to hold a heavy dumbbell for an extended period, and another testing her focus by requiring her to halt a moving clock at a set time. Her wins kept her gang safe from elimination and gave her control over the team’s ration of money for the week. The house is currently divided into rival gangs led by Joshi and Akanksha Chamola, a structure that has driven much of the season’s strategic manoeuvring.
Judgement Day and a Special Appearance
Alongside the wildcard buzz, the show’s Judgement Day episode is expected to be significant, featuring both a contestant’s elimination and the reveal of the new entrant. Actor Arjun Kapoor is set to make a special appearance during the episode, interacting with contestants as they face questions about their gameplay and decisions inside the house.
