Actor Yash has unveiled a new poster for his upcoming action thriller Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, alongside confirmation that the film’s official trailer will release on August 8.
Sharing the poster on social media, Yash confirmed the trailer date with a caption stating that the countdown has begun. The poster shows the actor in a rugged look, set against a dramatic backdrop with a weapon in hand, underlining the film’s dark, action-driven tone. The image quickly went viral across platforms following its release.
Announcing the update on Instagram, Yash shared a new poster along with a caption confirming the trailer date and the film’s worldwide theatrical release on August 26. The poster shows the actor, in character as Raya, standing on a rain-soaked cobblestone street holding a machine gun, with a cigar in his mouth as bullets fly around him a stark, black-and-white visual that underlines the film’s gritty, underworld tone.
The choice of Bengaluru for the trailer launch carries added significance: the city is home to both Yash and production house KVN Productions, and August 8 also marks exactly two years since the film went on floors, making the date a symbolic milestone in its production journey.
A day before this poster, the makers had released a separate look at Kiara Advani’s character Nadia to mark her birthday, showing her in a red outfit holding a red sakura fan.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, who also co-wrote the film with Yash, Toxic marks the actor’s first major project since the KGF franchise. It is being made on a reported budget of around ₹800 crore, with cinematography by Rajeev Ravi and music by Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami. The film is shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
The ensemble cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. An earlier teaser introducing the film’s female leads carried an unusual on-screen disclaimer warning “kids,” “parents” and even “great-grandparents” to stay away a tone that also stirred some controversy, with the film’s January first-look teaser drawing objections from a Christian body and a state women’s commission, and an FIR filed against the makers over its content.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is now heading into its final promotional stretch, with the August 8 trailer expected to give audiences their most detailed look yet at the story, action, and cast ahead of the August 26 release.
