Hyderabad, Telangana: K. T. Rama Rao, along with a delegation of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislators, met the Governor of Telangana, raising serious allegations of corruption and illegal activities in the state’s mining sector.

🏛️ Delegation Meets Governor

KTR stated that the delegation included both MLAs and MLCs who approached the Governor seeking immediate intervention.

“Met the Honourable Governor today, accompanied with an entire delegation of legislators, both Honourable MLAs and Honourable MLCs. And we’ve demanded him three things,” he said.

🚨 Allegations of ‘Rampant Corruption’

The BRS leader accused the state government of large-scale corruption, particularly in mining.

“This government has indulged in rampant corruption… especially in the mining sector. If the very government which is supposed to protect the interests of the people… is indulging in illegal mining, who is to come to the rescue of the people of Telangana?” he questioned.

⚖️ Three Key Demands

KTR outlined three specific demands made to the Governor:

  1. Dismissal of the Revenue Minister:
The delegation sought removal of Revenue Minister P. Srinivas, alleging links to corruption through his family’s company.
  2. Independent Judicial Probe:
They demanded an independent inquiry headed by a sitting High Court judge to investigate the alleged irregularities.
  3. Governor’s Direct Intervention:
The delegation requested the Governor to intervene, seek detailed reports from the government, and take action on illegal mining activities.

📄 Claim of Evidence Submitted

KTR claimed that the party has already presented evidence in both the State Assembly and Legislative Council and submitted the same to the Governor.

“We have produced all the evidence… which are government records… to the Honourable Governor as well,” he said.

🗣️ Political Allegations

He further alleged that democratic rights in Telangana are being suppressed, drawing parallels with past political situations.

KTR said the delegation reminded the Governor of past “oppressive regimes” and urged him to send a strong message to the government.

📊 Political Context

The allegations come amid escalating political tensions in Telangana, with opposition parties increasingly targeting the ruling government over governance and corruption issues.

🧩 Conclusion

The Governor is expected to review the representations made by the BRS delegation. Further action will depend on the response from the state government and subsequent developments in the case.
