Stormy Weather Hits Delhi and NCR

On Thursday afternoon, Delhi and nearby regions witnessed rain showers and stormy weather, bringing relief from the scorching heat that had gripped the national capital region over the past few days.

Some areas, particularly Ghaziabad, experienced hailstorms accompanied by strong winds, causing brief disruptions in outdoor activities and traffic.

IMD Forecast and Weather Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted rain across Delhi and the NCR for Thursday, and the forecast proved accurate as dark clouds gathered over the city around 3 pm, followed by rainfall and gusty winds.

Authorities advised residents to exercise caution while traveling and to secure vulnerable structures in areas affected by hail and strong winds.

Relief from Heatwave Conditions

The rain has offered much-needed respite from the intense heatwave conditions that had prevailed in Delhi over the last few days. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly, bringing temporary relief to residents and easing the load on electricity and water demand in the city.
