Bengaluru, Karnataka: D. K. Shivakumar on Monday said that Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Karnataka State Cricket Association, and other concerned stakeholders have agreed to provide three tickets each for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches to state legislators.
Speaking on the development, Shivakumar indicated that the decision was taken after discussions with all involved parties, including event organizers and associated entities such as DNA. The move is expected to ensure access for elected representatives to attend high-profile IPL matches held in the state.
The arrangement comes amid the growing popularity of the IPL, which attracts massive public and political interest, especially in cricket-loving states like Karnataka. Bengaluru, home to RCB, regularly hosts packed matches during the tournament, making tickets highly sought after.
While further details on the implementation of the ticket distribution are yet to be clarified, the Deputy Chief Minister confirmed that a consensus has been reached among all stakeholders.
