Tragic Incident in the United States
A heartbreaking incident has emerged from the United States, where a 26-year-old software engineer from Andhra Pradesh drowned while celebrating his birthday at a waterfall.
The incident occurred at Maramec State Park, where the young techie was spending time with friends.
Swept Away by Strong Current
The deceased, identified as Singireddy Sai Srihari Krishna, had gone to the waterfall with two colleagues.
According to reports, the group entered a pool at the base of the waterfall when Krishna was suddenly swept away by a strong current.
Despite attempts by his friends to rescue him, they were unable to reach him as the water was deep and conditions were dangerous.
Rescue Efforts Failed
Sources said that Krishna’s friends tried to save him for several minutes, but were unsuccessful. Their efforts were hampered after their feet reportedly got entangled in tree roots underwater.
A river rescue patrol reached the spot within minutes, but by then it was too late.
Promising Career Cut Short
Krishna had recently started working as a software engineer after securing a job in December 2025.
He had moved to the US in 2022 for his Master’s degree and had struggled before achieving his career milestone. He was living in shared accommodation in Missouri.
Known as a Skilled Swimmer
Family members described Krishna as a passionate swimmer since childhood. He had even worked as a swimming coach in the US during his student years.
His sudden death has shocked those who knew him, especially given his strong swimming background.
Family in Deep Grief
Krishna’s father, a farmer, and his mother, an emergency health worker, are devastated by the loss. His sister, also a software engineer, lives in Andhra Pradesh.
Local leaders are now coordinating with authorities to expedite the repatriation of his body to India.
