Pune Businessman Murder Case Takes New Turn
A shocking development has emerged in the Pune businessman murder case, with Maharashtra Police claiming that an earlier attempt to kill the victim allegedly took place several days before his death at Lohagad Fort near Pune. Investigators say the initial plan was abandoned after circumstances did not unfold as intended, prompting the accused to allegedly devise another strategy.
According to police, 26-year-old real estate businessman Ketan Agrawal was allegedly murdered by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and Chetan Chaudhary. Authorities claim the duo conspired to eliminate Agrawal and later present the incident as an accident.
The case has drawn significant public attention due to the serious allegations and the fact that the victim and one of the accused were reportedly set to marry in the near future.
Police Claim Earlier Murder Attempt Failed
Investigators allege that the accused had planned to carry out the crime several days before the fatal incident at Lohagad Fort. However, police believe the initial attempt did not go according to plan and was subsequently abandoned.
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly continued planning and later executed another strategy that ultimately led to Agrawal’s death. Authorities are examining phone records, digital evidence, travel details and meetings between the accused to establish the complete sequence of events.
Police officials have indicated that the alleged conspiracy involved significant planning before the incident occurred.
Lohagad Fort Visit Initially Believed to Be an Accident
The case first came to light when Agrawal fell into a deep gorge while visiting Lohagad Fort, a popular tourist and trekking destination near Pune. Initially, the incident appeared to be a tragic accident.
However, suspicions raised by the victim’s family and alleged inconsistencies in statements provided to investigators reportedly prompted a deeper inquiry.
As the investigation progressed, police examined surveillance footage, mobile phone records and other digital evidence. Authorities claim the findings raised serious doubts about the accident theory and pointed towards the possibility of a pre-planned crime.
Victim Allegedly Lured to Fort Before Death
According to police, Agrawal was allegedly taken to Lohagad Fort under the pretext of a birthday-related outing. Investigators allege that during the visit, he was pushed from a considerable height into a gorge, resulting in his death.
Police claim the accused attempted to portray the incident as an accidental fall. However, evidence gathered during the investigation allegedly suggested otherwise, leading authorities to register a murder case.
Officials say the investigation remains ongoing and additional evidence is being examined to strengthen the case.
Arrests Made as Investigation Continues
Police have arrested the accused and are continuing to record statements from witnesses and individuals connected to the case.
Investigators are also examining the relationship between the accused, the motive behind the alleged crime and the events leading up to the incident. Authorities believe further findings may emerge as the investigation progresses.
The Pune businessman murder case has generated widespread attention across Maharashtra due to the nature of the allegations, the reported planning involved and the dramatic shift from what initially appeared to be a trekking accident to a suspected murder investigation.
As police continue their probe, authorities are working to establish the complete timeline of events and determine the full extent of the alleged conspiracy surrounding Ketan Agrawal’s death.
